# FAQ

### Do I need a special app?

No. Open the site on your phone's browser, sign in, grant motion permission, and start walking. Works on iOS Safari and Android Chrome.

### Does it work in the background / locked screen?

Browsers do not allow continuous sensor access in the background. Keep the dashboard tab in front while walking. Screen-on, phone in your pocket, walk.

### What if I lose connection mid-walk?

Sessions are buffered locally. When you hit **Stop & save** the engine submits whatever it captured, signed against the last key it got.

### Can I use a step counter from my watch / Apple Health / Google Fit?

Not for tier credit. The whole point of the Stride-Logic engine is that we can verify steps independently. Third-party trackers can be spoofed and are not trusted.

### Why was I credited fewer steps than the counter showed?

Server-side anti-cheat trimmed the unverified portion. The counter on the walking screen is best-effort; the credited number is the verified portion. Walk smoothly with the phone in a pocket or waistband for the best credit ratio.

### My session got REJECTED. Why?

A few common reasons: your phone was in your hand (being waved), you walked on a treadmill, you were in a car, or there was a glitch with permissions. Keep your phone in your pocket and walk outdoors for the best results.

### My group is full. Can I add an 11th member?

No. The 10-walker cap is hard. Start a sister group.

### When does the tournament reset?

Every 24 hours: 20h active + 4h cooldown. The dashboard shows a live countdown. Settlement happens automatically the first time anyone loads the leaderboard after a window closes.

### When can I add my wallet?

At Tier 1 — 10,000 steps. Before that the wallet panel is locked.

### Can I change my wallet later?

Yes, any time before the mint snapshot. After snapshot, the primary wallet is locked.
